Sonja Graham, owner of Farmhouse Music Studio in Long Lake and Lakeville, has received a grant from the National Piano Foundation and the NAMM Foundation to launch an innovative Recreational Music Making (RMM) adult piano course in her communities. This grant not only supports Sonja's certification courses at the Music Teachers National Association's (MTNA) annual convention this March in Atlanta, GA but also facilitates training for other piano teachers at her studio to provide music lessons to adults of all ages and abilities with the Recreational Music Maker course. This initiative aims to enrich the community, foster lifelong learning, and offer a creative outlet for adults exploring the joys of music.

Richard Rejino of the National Piano Foundation/Piano Manufacturers Association International (PMAI) presented the award, recognizing Sonja's exceptional dedication to music education. NAMM, the National Association of Music Merchants, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the benefits of music-making.

"I am honored to receive this grant from the National Piano Foundation, allowing me to expand the joy of music to adults in our community as well as coach and inspire other educators to do the same," said Sonja Graham.

Sonja Graham, along with her colleague Jim Lansing at the Lakeville location, are set to be among a select few individuals in the United States certified in Recreational Music Maker (RMM) education, emphasizing their commitment to providing inclusive music lessons for adults.
